Cry Tuff Dub Encounter Chapter 1
Prince Far I & The Arabs -PSCD13
Whilst the Voice of Thunder is scarcely apparent, and the mixing is not as 'spacey' as on some of his dub albums, this is still one of Prince Far I's most popular and compelling albums. Featuring the brilliant rhythm section of 'Flabba' Holt and drummers Sly 'Horsemouth' and 'Fish' Clark.

Well Charged: Channel One
Various Artists - PSCD14
Owned by the Hookim family, Channel 1 was the leading studio in Jamaica between 1975 to 1982. 'Well Charged' brings together some of the finest releases of their own label. Featuring the Wailing Souls, John Holt, Ernest Wilson and many classics from the period.
Techniques In Dub
The Techniques - PSCD15
'Techniques In Dub' is a compelling dub album. Winston Riley is a much over-looked producer and this is a collection of some of his 'ruffest' dub cuts. Featuring the mighty Stalag rhythm.

17 North Parade
Various Artists - PSCD17
Clive Chin's productions for the Randy's label are never less than imaginative and highly distinctive. Black Uhuru, Alton Ellis, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs. Doesn't get much better than this.
Health And Strength
Prince Far I - PSCD18
This album was shelved and 'lost' some time in the 80s but re-surfaced in the 90s to be released for the first time by Pressure Sounds. All the tracks have vocals and find Far I at his most playful. Sleeve notes by Adrian . Standout tracks include 'Brother Joe', where Far I is joined on vocals by Gregory Isaacs.

Produced And Directed By The Upsetter
Lee Perry / Various Artists - PSCD19

When The Dances Were Changing
Hitbound Selection / Various Artists - PSCD22
As the 70s closed. Marley passed on and reggae was perceived as having lost its way. Far from it. Turning back into dancehalls to gain a fresher leaner sound, this collection perfectly captures the mood of early dancehall at its most creative. Barrington Levy, Sugar Minott, Frankie Paul all weave their magic.

Sounds And Pressure Volume 3

This is the third Pressure Sounds sampler and has 3 tracks that are exclusive to this sampler. The classic cut of 'Maffia' with version, Earl Zero's cut of 'Malcolm X' and Mike Brook's 'Rum Drinker'. Adrian Boots photographs make for a strong package.

Packin House
Little Roy & Friends - PSCD26
The Packin House in question was the place where Little Roy and Munchie Jackson used as a base for musical operations for their various labels. Some serious deep roots productions were the fruits of their labour. A strong spiritual feel from artists such as The Heptones, Carl Dawkins and Dennis Brown as well as Little Roy himself.

Phil Pratt Thing
Phil Pratt / Various Artists - PSCD27
Phil Pratt has been a well kept secret outside the reggae business. This 18 track retrospective features his work with Ken Boothe, Big Youth, Dillinger, Pat Kelly and Dennis Brown. Stunning it its variety, Pratt's productions range from the roots to the soulful as well as some great melodica outings from the much over-looked Bobby Kalphat.
Don't Call Us Immigrants
Various Artists - PSCD28
Probably one of the most unusual releases on Pressure Sounds in that it celebrates the output of some of the best of the UK's artists and producers. Put together with the help of Adrian Sherwood and Dennis Bovell it has some over-looked classics as well as the more well known 'Matumbi', 'Reggae Regular', 'Black Slate', 'Aswad' and 'Misty'.

El Rockers
Augustus Pablo - PSCD29
Compiled by Dub Vendor's Harry Hawkes, El Rockers is a kind of alternative tale on Pablo's classic 'King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown'. Concentrating on alternate takes, rare 7" versions and instrumentals, 'El Rockers' is Pablo at his subtle best. From the artwork to the sleeve notes to the music, this is wonderful for all Pablo fans.

Divine Madness, Definitely
Lee Perry -PSCD32
Junior Byles, Augustus Pablo, Jimmy Riley, Eric Donaldson are all present with timeless cuts from the Black Ark. There is also a rare interview with Scratch that took place in the early 80s. Spear Burning
Burning Spear - PSCD33
A brilliant selection of some of Spear's strongest material. No other artist with the exception of The Abyssinians, has ever come close to assembling a body of work with such devotional force. He is joined by Philip Fullwood and the cream of Kingston's session players. Magic.

Firehouse Revolution
King Tubby's Productions - PSCD34
A somewhat overlooked era in Tubby's prodigious output. Suprisingly so when you hear the quality of the material. Three cuts of Tempo including the original by Red Rose. Tracks by Johnny Osbourne, King Kong and Little John as well as some obscure dubs. Digital music at its most innovative.
Pick Up The Pieces
The Royals - PSCD36
Formed by Roy Cousins in the 60s, the Royals first recorded at Studio One before releasing their own productions in the mid-70s. Undoubtedly the great unsung heroes of Jamaican vocal harmony singing. Rare alternate cuts & previously unreleased tracks all gathered together for the first time in one complete package.

No Bones For The Dogs
Joe Gibbs & The Professionals - PSCD37
Joe Gibbs and Errol Thompson were known on record as The Mighty Two and along with the musicians that made up The Professionals they were responsible for some of the most heavy dread sounding dub from 1974 to 1979. Collected on this release we have some of the rare B-sides as well as some of the more well known tunes from the likes of the group Culture. Fascinating sleeve notes from Harry Hawke that provide in depth background on the Gibbs and Thompson production techniques.
In Fine Style: Original Rockers 7"
Augustus Pablo - PSCD38
'In Fine Style' represents just about the peak of instrumental reggae. With the emphasis on the deeply spiritual side of his work Pablo weaves beautiful Jazz like melodies with the usual thundering Rockers drum sound. This is an awesome aural experience. One that all Pablo fans need to have. Standout tracks 'Cool Shade Dub' and 'Ras Menilik Congo'. Rare Pablo photos and strong packaging.

Decibel: More Cuts & Dubs 1976-1983
Dennis Bovell PSCD39
The cornerstone of the British reggae scene Decibel's focus is on Bovell's more dub and instrumental work. Every track matches up to the best of Jamaican dub and yet still manages to throw something new into the equation. Bovell is a true innovator having working with The Slits, Pop Group, Alpha Blondy, LKJ and just about everyone in the reggae world at one time or another. A great introduction to a key players work. "I guess I've been moving since the day I was born".

A 22 track collection of some of the most beautiful and crafted rocksteady music. 'Red Bumb Ball' by Lloyd & Devon and 'In A Rocking Mood' by Austin Faithfull are both stunning examples of the art of rocksteady. All the tracks feature the genius of Lynn Taitt and The Jets. Brilliant.
